Authentic Supplications for Seeking a Righteous Spouse
رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنْزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ
"My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need." (Quran 28:24)
This was the dua Prophet Musa (AS) made when he helped the two women at the well, and Allah granted him one of them as his wife.
رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
"Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous." (Quran 25:74)
This comprehensive dua asks Allah for spouses and children who will be the coolness of our eyes (source of happiness and comfort).
رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
"My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." (Quran 37:100)
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
"Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire." (Quran 2:201)
The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) taught us to pray Istikhara when making important decisions like marriage:
The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) encouraged fasting and charity to help in matters of difficulty, including marriage.
Consistently recite the morning and evening remembrances which include protection and barakah.
